And what the hell were they talking about anyway?

The REAL spatula

No, it's not a flipper. It's a spatula. I don't care what the dictionary says, a spatuala is that thing that you use to flip your pancakes and eggs with not that flexible rubber thing. All of you are wrong except for me.

Both of you are wrong. Just because I am more smarter than both of you together is no reason to be mean to me. I mean who said "accumulated" in our presentation? Yeah thats right, you shouldn't have complemented me because it went straight to my head...now I am egotistical (another big word) just like the "Divas" at the concerts in the summer. I could be in a band now!

    spatula

n 1: a turner with a narrow flexible blade 2: a hand tool with a thin flexible blade used to mix or spread soft substances

Thank you PRINCETON UNIVERISTY!!! Oh, and what's this?
"A small implement with a broad, flat, flexible blade that is used to mix plasters, elastomers and similar substances. Artists' spatulas are usually finer and more flexible, while cement spatulas are stouter and stiffer." Kinda sounds like the rubber thing to me!!!
And what about this, or this? Spatulas EVERYWHERE!!!(these pictures don't open in a new window, sorry, it won't let me use the target attribute for some reason)

Aw, the spatula. The rubber bowl scraper. Face it Ali, you're on your own and the only way to make a comeback is to prove us otherwise. Perhaps we all have created this imaginary image of what a spatula actually is. And yet, there's some small orphan in the world holding onto their only toy - a spatula - not to say that a wooden stick with a piece of rubber on the end is his favourite toy - the point is it could be something that none of us thought existed. Isn't that what this website is about? - Putting words to something that the dictionary writers never got around to putting a name to. Eh? So, just think of that tiny child in Africa holding his only possession, a spatula. And whatever that means to him it doesnt matter because he loves it, ignoring all of his peers who tease him from always clutching onto that igneous rock - no, he says, its a spatula! who came up with that anyway. This - use - spa - t - ula -
    Very Good.
